I thought of an idea a while ago. Suppose you have an external SW
antenna w/ a mono phone plug. Someone could make a PCI card that has an antenna input, and maybe a ferrite bar antenna on it, and it could interface with radio software on the computer. The software would be open source, and if you wanted new capabilities for this computer/radio you would just download a plugin. Want to listen to whistlers on 20khz (correct me if I'm wrong)? Just download a plugin. Want to hear police communications in the VHF band? Download a plugin. There would be a special ham version that would transmit and recieve. Is this a feasible idea? Please respond and give me your opinions. |
