Russian GU-46 tube for KW amp?
Has anyone used one of these for a linear? I think they are pentodes and

Doug N4IJ Hi Seems really to be a pentode Here is one links found by Google http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/GU-46-4-1000A-...cmdZVi ewItem There is be a mistake in the link European symbol QB means tetrode Pentode is typed as QE Here is a russian link http://www.tubes.ru/techinfo/Broadcast/gu-46.html As in linear amplifiers I remember them beeing used in grounded grid circuit (all grids bound together and RF earthed and zener biased for correct AB class ) Drive to filament where ferrite rod chokes are used. I have used above mentioned tetrode QB 5/1750 successfully in GG-linear amplifier. 73 , Risto OH2BT |
