I would like to hear about experiences and comments on double windom
antennas. So far there are three designs that I have found reference to: A Double Windom Antenna for Eight Bands by Hubert Scholle, DJ7SH, and Rolf Steins, DL1BBC, cq-DL September 1983. A Double Windom Antenna for Nine Bands by Hubert Scholle DJ7SH, cq-DL July 1984. The Off-Centre-Fed Dipole Revisited: A Broadband Multiband Antenna. by John Belrose, VE2CV, and Peter Bouliane, VE3KLO. QST August 1990. The Belrose and Bouliane article includes a translation of the two cq-DL references above and is available to ARRL members at http://www.arrl.org/members-only/tis...df/9008028.pdf. Are there any other published designs or articles? Belrose and Bouliane advocate the use of balanced feed line constructed from dual parallel RG-62A or RG-63 coaxial cable. What is the advantage of using the coaxial cable instead of 300 ohm twin lead or 300 ohm ladder line? Darrell Bellerive VA7TO |
