Hi, Which antenna sould I use to work with my yaesu FT-100D, on vacation in the mountains. longwire + tuner, or vertical + tuner or even other solutions. I think a long wire should be the best, but what should be it's best length? Any other tips and info is welcome. If you have supports, I would use a dipole cut to the lowest frequency of interest, fed with ladder-line + tuner. If you don't have supports, I would use a center-loaded vertical with radials (like the improved St. Louis Vertical). The collapsible SD-20 fishing pole makes a vertical. Two of them plus a support make a rotatable dipole. Try http://www.wr6wr.com/ click on products, then SD-20. -- 73, Cecil http://www.qsl.net/w5dxp -----= Posted via Newsfeeds.Com, Uncensored Usenet News =----- http://www.newsfeeds.com - The #1 Newsgroup Service in the World! -----== Over 100,000 Newsgroups - 19 Different Servers! =----- |
