Kenwood TS 440
I am seeking opinions on the Kenwood TS440. "I" have one and the manuals for
it - owners and service. Question is, I have access now - to about a dozen of them - which I'm told "may" need repaired to a degree. What do you folks think the "resell" price is on these units - AS IS - or repaired. I acquired these in one of my many buyouts. Thanks |

Depends on general condition,Options ,microphone, power cable,tuner,manuals,etc.. ...Lately I have seen some nice 440s go for $350 to 450...If you need to pay for service or parts then you could spend a bunch of money and lose money on the deal.. On the other hand ,if you can buy them for say, $150 put in $50 in parts, you do the work you might come out with a little cash. I would advise a close inspection,to see if you could repair them your self, if not, ??????..You are taking a chance,Too many unknowns... GL W4PQW |

One guy at a local hamfest had 3 or 4 TS440s that needed various repairs for
$75 each less accessories. They sold quickly. "Radiosrfun" wrote in message ... I am seeking opinions on the Kenwood TS440. "I" have one and the manuals for it - owners and service. As I pointed out, I "do" have the service manual and I do have a rather well equipped bench, being I do electronics repairs and most on 2 way radios. I'll scope em out, to see what the deal is. I may keep a unit or two "just" for parts for my own. I know this may not be the "investment of a lifetime", but figured I might be able to capitalize on it - somewhat. Thanks! |

I "might" keep a couple for parts for mine and to do the others. |
