Wanted Ham Band Receiver

I need a deal... I'm kind of starting over ham wise and need a good ham
band receiver. Due to financial constraints hobby-wise I can't afford
much but I want something decent. I might be able to trade a
computer... (low end P4?)

I would take anything decent - tube or solid state. And I'm not too
proud to accept charity! :-)
Good email is on30ng at gmail dot com (put it all together)

I'm going to be building all my other equipment and need a good
receiver both as a receiver and test equipment.

Thanks for looking!

Try local ham fests -- buy a "non-working" radio and fix yourself. $50
should do it.

There are good Choices out their for a reasonable price. If ur looking
for something cheap, try Checking out the Hallicrafters S-20R receiver.
but if u wanna start small Check out the Hallicrafters S-38 series
receivers (Keep in Mind that the S-38 Series are Transformerless radios
I.E 5 Tube Sets) Good Luck.
