I have for sale or trade a really nice condition DX-394A. the stock
394 is a poor performer but with a few component fixes it is actually a very
very nice SWL receiver !! I do the following:
WIDEN THE AUDIO RESPONSE FOR BETTER LOW END PERFORMANCE !
INSERT THE 2 MISSING CROSSTALK CAPS
REMOVE THE TUNING CLICKS
FURTHER REDUCE POWER SUPPLY HUM

an external speaker is highly recommended. this is a far superior
receiver to the stock units you read about. price is $175 or trade. this
unit is far superior to the one that sells on ebay for over $200 as that is
an example of butchering a radio !!
