This amp is in excellent condition (See pictures). For those of you who are
not familiar with the SCG SG-500 Power Cube, it is almost impossible to
hurt. It has several built in protection devices. Some examples are,
Over/Under Voltage, SWR, Over Temperature and Over Drive. Also see the
additional built in microprocessor self test modes. No need to have it handy
to band switch, it does it all by itself, mount it in your trunk, behind the
seat, under the desk and start transmitting. With a stiff 14.0 VDC source at
the input voltage terminals (40 Amps average SSB, 90 Amps peak/CW) it puts
out 450 to 650 watts PEP from 1.6 to 30. MHz. I used two ASTRON 70 amp power
supplies in parallel to power this unit. This auction included a copy of the
operation manual, custom extended feet to enable the use of a standard
Muffin style fan for the extra cooling (Required for full power high duty
modes, i.e. SSTV, RTTY, etc. The factory optional cooling unit goes for
about $229.00. This unit is being sold AS IS but guaranteed to not be DOA!!!
