You may want to reconsider the FT-90 after reading some of the reviews on
eham.net:

Stay away from the FT-90R.....it's a piece of **** radio with more problems
that a commuter train has stops. Overheating, POOR receiver, ****ty squelch,
whimpy audio...there are others that are much better. Yaesu should be shot
for selling it...Eddie

Hmmm, then mine should really be worth something, since I've experienced
ZERO of those problems.

If you follow the timeline on the FT-90 reviews on eham, a lot of the bad
reviews came
early. They must have fixed up the problems. The later reviews are mostly
positive. Mine
is a month old, and is solid as a rock...Great rig!!
