As suggested, relist it without the name in the heading and maybe indicate that
this radio can not be modified to operate out of the legal ham bands and it will be sold to a licensed ham only (even if you don't care who buys it). If ebay is so picky about this, how do they miss the Icom 2100's and VX150's that are modified to transmit in the business band and sell for more than list price by people who only buy them for commercial use? What a deal that is, buy the radio for $140, modify it and sell it for a $60-$80 profit with no end in sight of customers. I know a lot of you think that ebay drives up the price but it is a win-win. The seller gets more than he would at a hamfest or on rec.radio.swap and the buyer paid what he thought was fair. How often do you see a FS item on here not get sold or get blasted by the price police and then sell for more on ebay? Besides, you have little recourse here than on ebay if the deal goes bad. This newsgroup was great years ago before online auctions, now most people do not even know how to find it. Bob |
