Looks like a nice radio... Of course, if you look at the bidding history, you find there were only 8 bidders, and most looked like they were relatively inexperienced bidders (the winner has 0 feedback, and the other guy that slugged it out at the end with him only has 4 feedback. Two other bidders had 0 or 1 feedback...) The winning bidder even had a bid retraction within the last month... Maybe radios cost a bunch more in Europe, given VAT and all... Another FT-857 sold a day or two ago, $720 US. Even it was over the current going price for a NEW one (once you get the rebate back from Yaesu). I'm amazed that someone would offer pay more than new, unless they were raised under a rock or were planning to somehow rip off the seller.... Last time I checked, I found two different places that were selling at $774 retail, less the $175 Yaesu rebate (until 12/31) that's only $599..... Methinks Santa may come early to my shack this year, but not at auction prices!! --Rick Howard Kowall wrote: i live in canada,it is even cheaper here Item number:3060307984 than this one this about 300.00 over priced dunno don,t get it howard |
