I had a Humvee.. Here is the problem with any other type of radio or any
other electronics is...

1. MOISTURE!! You can not completely keep moisture out of the cab..
2. 24 volt system.. ACTUALLY mine ran at about 27v - 28 v This plays hell
with a 24v - 12v converter..
3. ROUGH RIDING TRUCK.. Most radios and electronics will NOT hold up..

I sold mine.. It was a GREAT BIG TOY.. and bought a regulay Hummer...

Good luck

Howdy,

My question is for all you military radio buffs. I'm going to restore an

Ex
USMC Humvee and I need to know something about the radios
that are used currently. At this point I know nothing about them. Since

I'm
also a Ham I'd like any radio I put in to work on the Ham bands
and not just look cool, although cool is important too. :')

Thanks for the pointers folks,

Matthew D.
