Damark, and if you find 'em, don't buy anything until you read the list of
complaints, fraud charges, etcetera available at

http://www.resellerratings.com/seller1126-p1-s1-d1.html

(first of five pages of such reports)

They were "absorbed" by Overstock.com

Their biggest downfall was enrolling customers into the heavily pushed
"buyer's club" at $50 per year without approval and would end up being a
PITA to get out of it and receive a refund after the credit card bill came.

In its early years Damark was actually a damn good company and offered good
deals. Still remember Drew's multi page writeups glorifying their products
to no end.

Anyone here remember the C.O.M.B. outlet stores back in the mid and late
80s? Talk about fun...

Don't forget FINGERHUT.

I bought my stereo speakers and sub woofer from DAK....
Still have 'em, and they still rock! DBX's!

Oh yeah, my first cdrom was from DAK too, an old single speed BSR
external!

They pulled this scam on me. Even after they agreed to reverse the
unauthorized credit card charge, it wasn't for the full amount. I had to
write the credit card issuer who pursued them for fraud.

I still used some stuff I bought from them.

............never bought anything from them, but enjoyed getting and reading
their catalogue in the "library". Lately
I have been getting catalogues from Harbor Freight Tools. Anyone had
experience with them?

LOVE Harbor Freight!! I buy from them all the time. One thing to remember
with them is if it seems like a unbeleiveable deal it most likely is. The
cheap tools are just that cheap. BUT they have some damn good buys on better
quality stuff if you look.

IMHO of course.
