Metaal hydride battery,I DO NOT guarantee the batterys,as they have been
sitting,but the unit powers up on both batterys,I think I may have bought this
from Sears and may have an extended warranty contract,if i can find it,it will
be included,ther are NO scratches on the camera,we used it twice,it has just
been collecting dust in the original box,also,the VHS-C playback adapter
