I have a small one-tube (regen?) radio that I picked up at an antique
store a long time ago. Now I am cleaning out the shop and would like to see it go to a good home (to be repaired or for parts). It has a nice bakelite vernier dial with 4.5:1 ratio. The main scale is 0-100, with a subsidiary scale from 100-0. Numbers are black on ivory background, nice and crisp. The main tuning cap looks like 50 pF or so. There is a five-pin tube socket (no tube, don't know what it was), bakelite or similar material, a six-pin bakelite coil socket with one phenoloc brown coil form having three coils wound on it, a Wirco bakelite RF choke (mounted on a base, looks like a small tube, and a large mica capacitor on which is mounted a fuse clip sort of arrangement holding a grid leak resistor in a glass ampoule, marked "Tobe Vacuum Ticon, Loewe Leak, Germany, 9M." All these are mounted on a piece of wood of uncertain species, probably arborae peachcratia. On the bottom side there is another tuning capacitor about 100-200 pF, a rheostat, a ceramic thingy with metal top and bottom that were chromed but it is flaking off (this has a knob sticking through the chassis, won't turn), toggle switch, and a bathtub capacitor of some kind. Ther is space for A and B batteries whgich connect to binding posts. The box is steel, unpainted, not rusted much if at all. Two binding posts connect the antenna and ground. Knobs are in perfect condition, but no labels on them. Will consider any offer made the next week or two. You pay shipping, but it's not that heavy. Regards, Allen Windhorn (WA0OHE) -- P.O. You could email me one.
The place to post them is in the alt.binaries.pictures.radio group. I was curious to see if it was a homebrew or a commercial (kit?) radio. Pete "Allen Windhorn" wrote in message om...
