I have a Yaesu FT-890/AT which works on all bands and all modes it is
built for. The internal antenna tuner does a great job and is very fast. You have to be careful with the power control because it will easily put out 150 watts. I kept it at 100 watts. It is opened up for all of the ham bands. It comes with a microphone that looks like it has never been used (I operate mostly CW). It also comes with the original manual but no power cord. The power plug that goes with most Yaesu/Kenwood/Icom rigs will fit it (6 pin). The case looks very good and is an 8 out of 10. It has no internal CW filter; I used an external audio filter. Now for the negatives and there are two of them. On rare occasion the frequency will jump about 50 or 100 Hz. It seldom does it and when it does it will last for about five minutes and then won't do it again. It becomes very stable after that. It is more likely to do that if it has not been used for a long time. If it is used every day it does not seem to do that. One other minor problem is that the Notch/Shift knobs seem to touch each other and move together. Other than that the rig works great and I have used it often for rag chews, mostly on 40 meters. It is a fun little rig and has a lot of capability. Because it has those two problems I have decided to sell it for just 275 dollars plus shipping. It can easily be sent by Priority mail from San Angelo, TX. 73 de Jim, K5ROV James (Jim) Parsons, CMSgt, USAF, Ret.
