I'm sitting here looking at 4 Icom manuals (IC-02AT, IC-775DSP, IC-706MKIIG,
IC-7220).

I could be wrong, but I thought that basically once you publish
something, it's essentially copyrighted? (i.e. you don't have to put
"Copyright 2004"?

There are several outfits that sell old manuals, most of which are
copyrighted. I don't think it is unreasonable to ask for duplication
and materials charges on old manuals, the same as a library may charge
you for duplicating a copyrighted work.
