While it is possible to use abuse to flood the newsgroup it is possible to use abuse to flood email mailboxes with spam - it's the same thing, broadly speaking. It would seem that getting ISPs and others similarly situated to recognize the abuse as it happens and to act to end the abuse and to punish and thwart the abusers would contribute to a solution. Extending that attitude back to a position that the ISP, etc. will not tolerate behavior (punish, thwart that, too) which is designed to detect abusable systems would also be profitable. Do you see any such effort at all, anywhere? Until you do expect this newsgroup to be flooded with crap. It's "keep your head in the sand" time, still. Oh - and it's still also "call everybody else clueless" time as well, done most vehemently by the fatally clueless. Happy New Year. |
