Opinion on the Winradio WR-3700e ?

I'm looking at getting one but given the price I was hoping some people
on this group who already have/had them could share their opinions and
experiences about it.

Thanks!

Opinion on the Winradio WR-3700e ?

Hi Bob!

I have not owned the WR-3700e, however I did own the WR-1550e. I found the
build quality, and appearance to be excellent. The software was ok, but not
impressive. The performance was disappointing.

I realize the WR-3700e is several levels above the WR-1550e, however, with
one of the biggest difference being extended frequency coverage to 4GHz, vs.
1.5GHz, I'm not sure what you would actually find up there that would make
it worth while.

Did I mention they're overpriced?

Have you heard about the new Icom PCR-1500? You might want to check that
out before making a decision. My older PCR-1000 blew the doors off the
WiRADiO WR-1500e!

Take a look at http://www.flex-radio.com/ . They market receivers as well
as transceivers.
