Remote Control
Remote Control scanner:
Can I control my PRO-2006 that has an RS-232 card in it over the internet for live audio? We want to place it on the mountain top where we have an internet connection. |
Remote Control
Absolutey. Your PC on the mountain will need a static IP so that it can be accessed over the web. This box will be a web server to host the control page and send back the audio. You can write a little web page in VB.net for example that can pass commands to the serial port. The audio can be sent back over a host of methods. A free method is the WinAmp shoutcast software. I want to control the scanner. turn on bank 3 and turn off bank 2. The Voice over IP is good to go. Through the sound card in Meadi Player and a static IP. The Pro-2006 is the proublum. |

You mentioned that the PRO02006 has a serial card. Your web application will have to talk to the RS232 port . So a little custom programming is in order. Is that the problem perhaps?
