Those precision diode circuits look good on paper, but you can do a
better circuit by using a comparator to select between the inverted and
non-inverted signal (generated by op amps). That is how you do the
function on an IC, where floating diodes are a problem.

What I know about building radios or repairing radios or radio related
thingys,y'all could write down on a little bitty postage stamp in great

It was good to post it. There are many schemes to do demod. The HP 334
distortion analyzer, when used in AM mode, uses a simple diode detector
scheme. I think it can do about 0.25% THD, but need to dig out the
manual to be sure.
