Digital modes: What frequency am I on? by
Bert Hyman
I've picked up a handful of programs for various digital modes and
driving my PC's soundcard with the line-out audio from my TenTec Omni 7
have no problem copying signals once I figure out what mode they are.
However, all these programs have either AFC or some other way of
decoding a signal...

Yaesu VX-8DR: on-board TNC by
Rob Lingelbach
Returning to packet after many years away, will soon have a new radio for VHF/UHF packet. The radio, a Yaesu VX-8DR, includes an AX.25 TNC, yet the specifications and manual only refer to this built-in TNC as a dedicated APRS device. Why can't it also be used with an external input, in the case...

QSO's in other modes than BPSK31? especially forward error correcting by
Marc Heusser
I managed to get on air with PSK31, and also found quite a few stations
to work on 3580 MHz.
I am interested in other modes, especially forward error correcting
ones. But I have yet to find stations using them.
Where do I need to look? (Frequencies, identifiying, etc)
As I am antenna limited, it...

MixW software question by
Captain America
I am new to this digital modes stuff in spite of being licensed since
1958.
Am using MixW software through a SignaLink USB and have made several
PSK31 contacts. Have fiddled around with the CW capability but have
not investigated other modes yet.
Some questions:

Newbie digital modes question by
Captain America
I've been licensed since 1958 but have been off the air for last 15
years or so, except for occasional 2-meter FM contacts and an
occasional foray back into 40 CW.
I'm baffled by the proliferation of digital modes and digital devices.
As I understand it:
1. Computers have sound cards that...
