Default Help with General Electric P-990A World Monitor Radio

I recently purchased a General Electric P-990A World Monitor radio. I
cannot seem to locate the size of the DC power plug on the back of this
radio. Would anyone know the size of this DC power plug?

Thank You

Brian

Default Help with General Electric P-990A World Monitor Radio

Un-Plug the Radio from the AC Power -and- Remove the
Batteries from the Radio. Take an Ohm-Meter and Check
the Continuity of the External Power Adapter Input Jack's
Outer {Rim} Connector to the Plus and then the Negative
connector of the DC Battery compartment. Most of the
time the Outer {Rim} Connector of the External Power
Adapter Input Jack is the Radio's DC Circuit Ground and
is also a direct connection to one side of the DC Battery
Input. With this Continuity-Test you will know whether
the Radio is Negitive Ground or Positive Ground. {The
Radios Circuit Polarity and the Tip-and-Barrel Polarity.}

Next - Take your Radio to RadioShack and buy a 9 VDC
rated at 800-1000 ma AC-to-DC Adapter. Then try out the
various size RadioShack Adapter-Plugs to find the one that
fits your Radio. Now at the RadioShack Store connect the
Adapter-Plug to the AC-to-DC Adapter with the Tip and Barrel
to match-up with the Polarity of your Radio. Plug the AC-to-DC
Adapter in to an AC Outlet and Plug the Adaper-Plug into the
Radio as you finial test to see that you Got-It-Right.

IMHO - The GE World Monitor Radios were the best Solid-State
Radios that GE made prior to the introduction of the GE Superadios
{Super Radios}.

yes it is that simple - iane ~ RHF
