You need to try using a hands free device while driving, that has got to
be worse than just using the cell phone! Someone calls or you've got to make
a call, you've got to put the @#$%! thing on, seems to be on the same order
of trying to pick up several things from the floor of the back seat, or
worse.
Many studies have shown that cell phones are FAR from the worst
distractions while on the road, though they certainly tick people off when
they see someone driving carelessly while using one.
As for only using one hand, how many hams ALREADY drive that way while
on the radio and yet have no problem talking, moving frequency or adjusting
something on the radio??

Hey...
Kinda off topic, but just FYI to everyone in this group:
TO ANYONE THAT DOES NOT HAVE A HEADSET FOR THEIR CELL PHONE
Free-Headset.org is a nationwide wireless phone safety program that
provides cell phone users with a free handsfree headset to promote safe
driving.
Statistically, using your cell-phone while driving is a risk factor -
using
a headset doesn't change that.

That makes no sense at all. Driving with a cup of coffee in one hand,
a cigarette in the other, putting on make-up, while yelling at the kids
in the back seat has GOTTA be safer than doing all that with a cellphone
in the other hand.
