I feel likewise, there's just something about an analog meter.

There's a reason for that. In many applications, analog displays are
preferred. For example, when adjustment for minimum or maximum
is needed, or when a quick glance is all you can spare.

Remember when carmakers started making digital speedometers - and
then found drivers didn;t like them because it took longer to get a reading?

Some of us even prefer an analog dial. Hopwever, my favorite mode is
digital.
