True.
Back around 1997 onwards to Fall, 2001, the morsemen were
chanting the morse mantra that morsemanship is "necessary"
for emergencies. Along came the Attack on America and
morsemanship didn't play any part in any attempt to thwart such
a terrible thing and didn't do much good after 11 Sep 01.
Even then the mighty macho morsemen were outraged and angry
that anyone could ever think of such a thing as eliminating a
morse test for a U.S. license. Then came WRC-03 and the last
great rationale for keeping any administration's morse test went
into the dumpster.
Morse code was boring 50 years ago, 40 years ago, 30 years ago,
20 years ago, 10 years ago, and just a few minutes ago. That
along with all those catechisms of the Church of St. Hiram have
continued to be boring, boring, boring...
