Default Classical Music Format Host Processing?

What audio processing gives the ``classical announcer boom'' to
classical music stations? Columbus Ohio has the same ``Radio Station
of the New York Times'' sound on their announcer. It can't be that people
actually sound that way in real life, that work in classical stations.

I mean you won't be behind somebody at Kroger and discover that he
announces classical music by listening to him talk to the cashier.

Hoffnung had a cartoon of an opera basso with an electronic ``wobble''
adjustment on his chest; perhaps there is a similar attachment for
classical announcers? ``bass boom'' box.

If there is such an attachment, why don't DJs use it too?
