If you want radio news in New York you probably go to WINS out of
sheer habit. They only break format for wall-to-wall coverage of major
events, never for sports or infomercials. They're New York's crisis
station. They have the radio news franchise wrapped up tight and WCBS
is a distant second in news.

If I owned it I could deal with that.

If you owned WINS, you would also own WCBS, and WFAN, and Stern's
station, and a number of other very powerful stations around the
country.

Also the CBS and UPN TV networks, and Paramount studios, and a huge
billboard company, etc., etc.

In short, you'd be Sumner Redstone, biggest shareholder in Viacom, one
of the richest people in the world. And you probably wouldn't care
much about anything posted in a newsgroup.

Of course, anyone can be a (very small minority) owner of all this.
Just buy some Viacom stock.
