Bucharest, 26 November: November seems to be a popular month for launching
new radio stations as Radio 3 net has already had its official opening and
Radio Info Pro and Guerrilla Radio are in the pipeline.
Radio 3 Net is a new brand from the Romanian Broadcast Society and can be
accessed on the internet at
www.radio3net.ro.
"The project of re-engineering the entire station is complex and we have
allotted 6.5m euros for this. An additional 2.5m euros are coming and will
also include Radio 3 Net," said Dragos Seuleanu, president of the Romanian
Broadcast Society.
The team of the new station is managed by Florian Pittis and includes Jerry
Schwartz, Sorin Chifiriuc, Lenti Chiriac, Marcel Platon and Florin Zegrea.
The station airs quality music, cultural news, sports, financial and
legislative information as well as entertainment, information about
administration, jobs, IT and media.
Academia Catavencu group is to launch a new radio station managed by Razvan
Exarhu, following an investment of about 500,000 euros in the first year.
The station, whose most publicized potential names are Crazy FM and
Guerrilla, replaces Radio Fun on the 94.8 MHz FM frequency. The station
targets people between 20 and 45 years old and its format includes 70 per
cent entertainment and 30 per cent editorial.
The operator of the broadcast licence is Fun Radio SRL, whose ownership
includes Academia Catavencu SA with 50 per cent of the shares and the
editorial control, Regent House, part of Regent House Properties Limited
owned by Nicolae Ratiu and Calin Husar, who is involved in B-24-FUN guide
along with Academia Catavencu. The audience objectives include ranking in
the top five by 15 March 2005 and in the top four by 15 September next year.
