I did that on 11 meters, sort of. I was running my eagle on am,(it's best
place). I dial past channel 9 and I hear distant traffic, it was after
sunset and the band was quiet. Here it's these jackass's out on lake erie,
and they're out of gas.

It was really calm so they were in no danger, but they only had a cb
on-board and when I heard them, they couldn't hear me until I turned
the beam north. Then I called the marine towing service for them on
the land-line, advised them about the cb only situation. Then I listened
to both of those assholes trying to call each other back and forth
on ch 9.

I finally keyed the eagle 515 amp and they both thought i was the boat
they were looking for. They finally hooked up, but that dude was lucky
I stumbled by that channel.

It was my good amp deed, indeed.
