HI All,
My brother is interested in getting a 2 pack of Midland g-300's for us
to use the GMRS band.
He said that an FCC license is required. Does anyone here know if the
license covers all radios you own? For example if my brother and I
were to use these, do we just need one license?
anyone know?
One license is needed. This covers all radios you own and all persons in
your specific household. If your brother and you live at different
addresses, each of you would need to get your own license.
There is nothing in 95.179 that states that all users have to live at
the same address. It only describes the family members covered. This
includes aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, in-laws, etc. It is highly
unlikely that all the family tree would be living in the same house.
