I had a mag mount lil wil paired up with my Cobra 29 WX ST and I got
about 1.5 - 2.5 miles on a good day. It didn't matter if I put that
bad boy directly in the center of my roof or on the trunk. Partly do
to the cheap China made radio, and partly do to a short antenna.
I'd recommend placing the antenna in the middle of your roof. You'll
have better chances of getting out better.

I also have a lil wil antenna. What range to you think I should expect with

I have a uniden antenna that came with a pro-510axl radio that is
missing
the top half. Does anyone one else have this antenna? How would I get
a
replacement part?
Is this a normal mobile rig or a useless handheld unit?
For a mobile radio, get a Wilson 1000. Don't complain that you hear engine
noise
in this radio when the motor is on. We know it's going to happen with this
radio.
All my AM only units had motor noise problems. It went away when I got my
first real CB, a PC-122 sideband unit. Since then, I've only used SSB
units and
no longer have engine noise problems. YMMV.
