They went on my **** list after the Manny Ramirez deal...baseball
needs a salary cap like the NFL has.

through the course of history all teams have made crap decisions
regarding players. sox are no different.

there is a sort of cap in mlb
where the owners pay a luxury tax over a certain dollar amount in
yearly
salaries. george could give a crap about the tax as he has his ship
yards and if that goes belly up then all he has to do is cry to the
federal govt and they'll bail him out.


Soft cap doesn't work if it doesn't stop Stienspender from running
his payroll over $200 million. How much will he give Carlos Beltran
now?

Consensus here is that Drayton Mclane BETTER keep Beltran here, even if he
has to sell his kids and wife! :-) Really though, if the Astros let him
leave, Mclane deserves to be run out of town like we did to the Oilers and
their fat, pompous owner and that toupee that ate his head.


Be honest now.....the oilers are gone because they truly stunk! No winning =
no fan base.
