Have you tried both? I have heard Radio Shack's are worse then
Bearcats. But I've also heard that Uniden makes Radio Shack units, so
I don't know which is true. I've heard problmes with the Pro 9x
series having problems with the sound being clear. Is this true?

Basically, why do you recommend the Pro 95 over the BC245XLT? And
what is the difference, besides the RS has 1000 channels and the BC
has 300.

I have both and the Pro95 far out preforms the bc245. The pro95 has alfa
tags, 1000 channels, wider freq range, aa batteries. The pro95 is not
made by Uniden it is made by GRE. As far as the sound goes I have never
heard or had a complaint about it.
