About batteries: The Pro95's batteries are inserted into a plastic
module which is then inserted into the battery compartment. There are
two such modules. The one that comes with the scanner is not recharge
capable, but there's one sold seperately that is.

The PRO-95, as shipped to Radio Shack, includes two battery holders:
one black, one yellow. The yellow one can be used to recharge NiCd and
NiMH batteries in the radio.

Really??? Last I heard from my nearest RadioShack location, it was sold
seperately.

They've misinformed you. The black holder is [supposed to be] inside
the battery compartment in the radio. The yellow holder is [supposed
to be] inside a small cardboard enclosure, at one end of the retail
box. Every PRO-9x (92,93,95,etc.) I've received was arranged like
this.
