Impossible question. It's like asking what's the best car.
Even if your neighbours travel on the exact same roads as
you, they will still have different cars depending of a
wast number of reasons.

If there where such a thing as a best new scanner, everyone
would have bought the exact same scanner, right?

I would think that the most popular scanner the last couple
of years would be the BC780, so that might be the best
all around scanner for most people. But then again, it
might not be the right thing for you.
