USAF and Navy assets will participate in a Cruise Missile Test Launch
tomorrow. As usual, it will be controlled out of Eglin's CCF. Look for them to
use their usual freqs Tac 1: 254.2, and Tac 2: 234.6. Callsigns will be Widget
48 and O2K, controlled by Eglin's CCF.
The comms today on those freqs were a dress rehearsal for the mission
tomorrow.
Tomorrow's comms should be heard over a wide area and for quite a while;
many practice routes are flown before the "bird" is actually lofted. Typically
the "bird" is lofted from a ship off-shore Florida's east coast, and it travels
across peninsular Florida to a target on Eglin's test range. You will hear the
acft "chasing" the bird and reporting coordinates through its flight, but the
coordinate-positions are passed in coded symbols. There will be lots of comms
(many more than today) because many more chase acft will be involved.
I will post the HF freq to be used tomorrow as soon as I confirm it.
