Then you haven't tried to receive any of the lower frequencies. I have
not
yet been able to receive any 11 or 6 meter transmissions from a 5 Watt
transmitter unless it is within about 100 feet away. And that is with
an
external antenna.
Frank
WRONG! WE have tried 11 meters, not that we want to listen to it, but it
worked well. Heard some truckers off the interstate about 5 miles away
(the
interstate from our location).
You're exaggerating if you say you can hear truckers 5 miles away. It's
well
documented that the CB band on the 95 is near useless. Under a mile is
all
you can expect with this. Unless all your truckers run big linears ?
Look, I'm reporting what I hear... I know the distance from the interstate
to here. What the truckers are using I have no idea. I'm not in the damned
truck with them. NOR do I KNOW them. They're going to and fro on the
interstate, how the hell would I know who they are or what they use? That is
such an asinine statement, It is known that SOME truckers at least run
linears or modified 10 meter radios. Whether all do, I DO NOT KNOW.
The man stated he couldn't hear a CB at 5 watts more than 100 feet away with
his Pro 95. I CAN.. so what is the big freaking deal? Maybe we got lucky and
got two good units. My service monitor shows them to be receiving better
than the book lists them at in sensitivity. Since I can't prove it to you
any other way, I'm not going to argue this point any further. IT IS
RIDICULOUS to even try. I don't give a flying SCREW if you believe me or
not. I KNOW what I KNOW. Who are you to call me a liar when you 're not here
to prove otherwise? And to say I'm exaggerating is exactly what you're
doing - calling me a liar. I'm not even going to waste any more time on this
stupid thread. G.W.
