do you want it handheld?

buy a radio fairhaven rd-500 and a generic lcd monitor ment for a car dvd
player

some of the high end radios have a tv out or if tap for this

Unfortunately, Fairhaven RD500 was limited to a ceiling of 1750MHz,
all those signals between 2.3-2.6Ghz was missed, otherwise an great
scanner.

If I were to buy some product similar to Icom R3, but less its
simplicity and its "toy"-grade quality. What do I really need?

I know I do need a good radio scanner, one TV convertor, and a LCD
display.

Anyone with good hardware recommendation?

Saw someone talked about aportable b/w monitor with auto frequency
scanning capability? Just don't know its make and model.
Any clue?
