Interesting. I haven't ever tried that. Is there any special setup
required?

LOL. As I mentioned I have my PC setup to dual boot, because of things

like
this. But, no, I do not want Win95, I'll take Win98SE.

I have my PC set up to run Win98SE under XP.

I have a Radio Shack PRO-89 race scanner and the Radio Shack Scanner
Loader software.

I have the software installed on Windows XP and Windows 98 (I can boot
either OS on my system). Everything works perfectly on Windows 98.
Everything *seems* to work on Windows XP except that it won't actually
upload frequencies to the scanner. The only requirements listed on the
CD are "Windows 95 or later".

I downloaded ProLink software and it loads the scanner correctly on
XP. The only reason that I mentioned that is because to me it proves
that there is nothing wrong with my hardware or XP.

I e-mailed Radio Shack and just got a reply that they know the
software doesn't work on XP. According to RS the software "does not
access the serial port properly and cannot therefore send data to the
scanner". They went on to say that "We do not have a version of this
software which will work with [Windows XP]".

Does anyone here know of a workaround or any way to get the software
to work on XP? If not, what software (free?) do you recommend.

Thanks,
Nick
