Default Interference at 800MHz: Nextel vs. Public Safety

Nextel is causing interference to 800 MHz Public Safety Radio systems,
there are two competing plans to solve the interference problem.

The balanced approach supported by Fix 800 MHz Now:

and The Consesus Plan:

The Consensus Plan includes 800 MHz, 700 MHz, 900 MHz, and moves
Nextel to the 1.9 GHz Band (1910-1915 MHz paired with 1990-1995 MHz)
which most of us can't get on our scanners anyway.

I support the Consensus Plan because in moves Nextel out of 800 MHz
and consolidates Public Safety into one continuous block of spectrum.
Nextel also gives back spectrum at 900 MHz and stays out of 700 MHz.
Opponents of the Consensus Plan claim that Nextel is getting 10 MHz
of "free" spectrum at 1.9 GHz. However Nextel gives up about 10.5 MHz
and also pays about $850 million for the rebanding effort.
