Mine picks up a family radio easily from across the room with the
stock antenna. Haven't tried it any further. Did that to figure
out how the sig stalker works.

I bought a new Pro-83 and the signal stalker won't detect a cordless phone
beyond a few inches away with the stock antenna.
The stock antenna is almost useless.
What frequency is the cordless on? I use a Active Hunter (probably
WORSE than the stock antenna, but better at being stealthy) but I can
pick up my cordless from about 10 feet away. Make sure you're in stalk
mode, and not in stalk BAND (i.e. UHF) mode.
A telescopic antenna extended to the correct length only improves the range by a few more inches.
A telescopic antenna on the cordless phone or scanner?
A couple feet away from my 900 Mhz analog cordless phone's base unit will not detect at
all, nearly the same with my neighbor's 43 Mhz lowband cordless.
What kind of signal stalker performance are the rest of you Pro-83 owners
getting? I'm wondering if I have a bad unit.
Keep in mind, these cordless phones are EXTREMELY low power - I'm not
sure, but I'm guessing in the milliwatts.
I've picked up a handheld 5 watt VHF radio from over 300 feet.
