Col. Yurin,

You are correct, it is based on the 7600g. I pointed out the
differences I was aware of (to the GR). Let me know what I missed and
we will update the article.

Thanx

Russ,

There isn't much. I guess my impression was that by mentioning the GR
improvements in a sentence at the end of each paragraph, after
describing in more detail the lack of same within the paragraph, it
seemed like the current Sony was getting short shrift. (Even though it
won.)

Here are the points I noticed on reading through it again:

* Sleep setting is variable in 15 minute increments from 15 to 60 min.

* There are two clocks, for local and UTC.

* There is a daylight savings time button.

* The alarm can be radio or a 3 minute beeping alarm.

* Alarm presets do not have to be from memory, giving the radio 102
memories total. What is good about this is that the alarm buttons
become, when the radio is on, single button memories: simply hitting
the alarm button (standby) for A or B will instantly take you to that
frequency.

* When scanning, it pauses for 3 seconds on a signal and then
continues scanning to end of band.
