Well, I've been told that the AN-LP1 is not discontinued... but supply
is very short in comparison with demand...thus it is difficult to

So, good luck getting either of these great antennas!
Universal Radio still shows the AN-LP1 on their on-line catalog. So perhaps it is indeed not discontinued. If anyone is
interested in one, give Universal a call and see what the status is.
You can actually buy an amp for the Torus, but don't bother for a
portable radio - it wont really help any.

I would suggest an alternative, the Torus Tuner SW Loop. The biggest
advantage is it requires no batteries and in my estimation is slightly more
selective than the Sony Active Loop.

Of the Sony accessory antennas that are recommended, which one works
"best"
with the 7600GR? The AN-LP1, the AN-1 or the AN-102. I've decided to get
one of them, but I'm not sure which one. I'm just getting into listening
to
SW and I'd prefer an antenna that would give me the best chance of pulling
in stations cleanly. All three antennas seem easy enough to transport.
I've read a lot of good things about the AN-LP1 and very little about the
other antennas.
