Telstar 5 & Home Schooling
First of all, I'll answer the bound to arise question of "What does this have to do with shortwave?"
R.G. (AKA, Brother or Prophet) Stair is on shortwave 24 hours per day on just one transmitter. He has been on shortwave up go 60 or 65 hours per day counting the different transmitters he was on at that time. (Oh, he made reference to possibly being on ALL FOUR WWCR transmitters 24/7 at some day in the future. I think it was just a "for example" situation to his flock in Walterboro last Saturday (8/09/03) concerning an upcoming "Forty Days and America Will Be No More" future announcement when he could possibly spend up to 10 million dollars in about three months!)
Brother Stair also is on Telstar 5 24/7 and Pastor Peter John Peters is supposed to be on Telstar 5 24/7 also, but hasn't quite made it for a solid week yet. Pastor Peters is on most of the time however, and I expect they'll have all the bugs worked out shortly.
There are also other shortwave broadcasters that are on Telstar 5. DW Radio for one, though they are not not 24/7. They are on World Radio Network, which may be moving off Telstar 5. There are other news programs in English on Telstar 5.
Now, to the original point:
Bob Jones University has FOUR CHANNELS on Telstar 5 for HOME SCHOOLING. They are supposed to be scrambled, but are temporarily, I think, unscrambled as a "teaser" or preview of what is to be offered. If you are Baptist, especially, or if you are Christian at all, you may be interested in the Telstar 5 programming for home schoolers -- especially if you thought you were not "qualified" to teach your children at home! Bob Jones University has been known for its theatrics for about 50 years or so, having the only revolving stage in the south east as far back as the 1950's. While the Armenianists may not buy ALL that BJU has to offer most of what they have to say will apply to all Christians.
BTW, You can go from radio frequencies to tv channels with one touch of one button.
I mention this as JUST ONE MORE REASON someone might be interested in one of the satellite dishes that Bro. Stair or Pete Peters has to offer. P. Peters was not on Saturday most of the time (? any at all) and I listened to Bro. Stair's Sabbath service. He mentioned that 44 people had received the satellite systems, besides those who already had one. Just a couple weeks ago (approx.) it was at 25, so it seems that someone has been getting them.
There are several (? many) books promoting the advantages of Home Schooling. It is believed by some that the public schools are there to KEEP YOU FROM LEARNING -- especially certain parts of history. But I won't try to go into those reasons right now! :-)
GOOOOD DAY!
