I frequently listened to the Liberty Net throughout the 90's when it met on
3950. Back then some of the Liberty Net guys would also have QSOs on 3950
during the week. EVERY SINGLE TIME these folks would try to carry on a QSO, or
run their net, they would be jammed by a plethora of deranged individuals such
as:

WA9KJI
K5BLB
W9ART
K5ZU
WB0CXJ
AF2Y

Plus others who's call signs I don't recall. Add to this at least the same
number of unidentified jammers such as "Doofus", "Captain America" (I think it
was), "BR549", and others.

After a few years of this, I contacted the FCC about this jamming because I
couldn't believe this jamming was allowed to continue. I mean, surely the FCC
had to know about it. Just by tuning across the band, one could hardly miss
this wild cacophony coming from 75 meters every night!

Anyway, the FCC's Riley Hollingsworth asked me to regularly provide him with
date/times/details about any jamming I heard, which I faithfully did for months
and months.

Hollingsworth bragged about the FCC's highly effective monitoring and direction
finding capabilities, and hinted that these jammers would be easily located. I
thought, "OK, great. Now the FCC will finally clean up this mess". So I
faithfully submitted jamming reports and waited for the jammers to be shut
down.

Nothing happened.

After a while I began to smell a rat.

First of all, why should I, or anyone else, have to supply the FCC with a
running history of ongoing jamming? Once a problem is reported, isn't it the
FCC's job to monitor the jamming for themselves? I mean, for all they know my
reports could be false. Wouldn't they want to hear it for themselves?

Secondly, I cannot beleive that the FCC wasn't already aware of the situation.
I mean, you'd have to be totally deaf not to hear it.

Thirdly, with the FCC's DF capability, I can't believe they couldn't find these
guys.

I finally stopped communicating with Hollingsworth. It was a total waste of
time. Something was not right at the FCC. I just assumed the Clinton
Administration told Hollingsworth to look the other way, to allow the jammers
to continue, because the Liberty Net was so critical of Clinton and liberals.

Fast forward to last night. I tuned past 3947.5 and was greeted by someone
jamming the Liberty Net with music. Last night's jammer and his selection of
music sounded just like one of the jammers I heard in the 90's! Nothing has
changed! The same guys are apparently still on the loose! Hollingsworth is
apparently still sitting on his ass throwing jamming reports into the
trash while assuring us with a smooth line of bull**** that something will be
done.

WTF is wrong with the FCC?
