The Blevins seem to have arrived in America in the 1600's from both Wales
and France. Their DNA is Semitic. They were likely Jews from
France/Spain, as they quickly migrated to be with persons sharing this
background in Appalachia.

I dont think that really proves anything. Nobody is really sure what the
Melungeons are. There is an interesting book "She Walks these Hills" based
on a Melungeon woman. They interest me. They are like Lumbees, and the
Charles City Redbones here in Tidewater VA. I think most of them are really
descendants of runaway slaves. Indians, and people who wanted to live on
the edge of society. Many Melungeosn fought in the Confederate Army tho, as
did Cherokees. I have heard that some of them had Turkish ancestors. I knew
a family called Benenhaley which was suppoed to be a corruption of Ben Ali,
could be I guess. They were a brother and sister, both real nice looking
