Ive been hearing a fairly stong US Coast Guard broadcast in the 8 mhz
USB area recently. The station ID's as "something" Chesapeake. He says
the first word so fast i cant understand him. I'm guessing this is
coming from the Chesapeake Bay area but im not sure. Anyone ever hear
this?? What is he saying??

He's probably ID'ing as CAMSLANT CHESAPEAKE. You were more than likely
listening to 8983 USB which is a Coast Guard aero frequency. They are also
quite active on 5696 USB.

If propagation is good, or depending upon your location, CAMSPAC POINT
REYES in California can also be heard.

Generally you'll hear the stations working Coast Guard helicopters and
other CG aircraft. If you get lucky you'll actually be able to hear a SAR
(search and rescue) mission taking place on the high seas.
