SDZIERZA,
A 'continual narrow "z"' would not be that good.
- - - End feed 'folded' random wire.
*--------------------
---------------------
---------------------
Why not instead 'think' of a fat flat continual "S" shape instead.
- - - Have a foot to three feet vertical section between each
horizontal section. Still and End Feed 'Folded' Random Wire Antenna,
but a little more signal capture area.

? Have you considered an "Under-the-Eaves" Antenna Location ?
- - - Use Colored Insulated 14-24 AWG Stranded Wire that matches the
'color' of your house. Also use TV Stand-Offs to Mount the Antenna
Wire about 4"-6" under the eaves of the house for as long as you can
run the wire. This usually gets the antenna up higher and moves
antenna away from the electrical wiring in the lower wall areas.
= = = Basically a Random Wire Antenna that would End Feed.
+ + + However, this could also be set-up as an Off-Center Feed
Random-Windom. (35% Short Section and 65% Long Section) Antenna using
either TV 300 Ohm Twin Lead as a FeedLine -or- a TV 30075 Ohm
Matching Transformer and TV 75 Ohm Coax Cable as the FeedLine.
? Have you considered an "Over-the-Roof" Antenna Location ?
- - - Use Colored Insulated 14-24 AWG Stranded Wire that matches the
'color' of your Roof. The Antenna Wire will lay directly on the
surface of the Roof and go from one side of the house to the other.
(Keep this Wire Tight.) This gets the antenna up higher and moves
antenna away from the electrical wiring in the lower parts of the
house/building.
= = = Basically and End Feed Random Wire Antenna.
Something to 'Think" About . . .

If I take wire and run it along the frame of my home, in a continual narrow
"z" formation (30' long), would this make a good antenna? I had been
thinking of doing this as I can not place a decent outside aerial. Is more
wire better or is there a "proper" length? Would the connecting wire be in
the center of the formation or is anywhere alright?
