The tuning drifts, if you're listening and you tune to 11835 kHz and
go to the bathroom and come back, then it's on 11833 kHz. This might
drive you crazy or it might not. I like to sit there and twiddle
dials so it's OK by me. As for FM and MW, there's more room on those
bands so the drift doesn't affect them so much. The AM reception is
fabulous, hearing San Francisco talk radio stations at night from a
motel room in San Diego is easily done.
It's a really fun radio to use. The FM reception is really good and
sensitive... great for all the low power and distant FM public radio
stations. You can also easily pick out FM stations with it that are
200 kHz apart. On vacation we went to Charleston, Oregon on the
coast, and we pulled in FM public stations from Eugene, 80 miles away
with some terrain in between. I couldn't do this with any normal
radio.
I've run the radio for countless hours and still it says the batteries
are full.
On shortwave, sometimes it's hard to get good sound out of it with
audible voices instead of muffle muffle muffle, you have to have good
tuning fingers. It's also a tricky radio if there's a big station 5
kHz away from what you're listening to.
I've had a lot of fun listening to this radio. There's something
satisfying about turning a big dial to hear a station.

Can anyone give a hands on evaluation of this radio?
